But wearing lip and eye products, on the other hand, is probably fine. Your lips don’t have any hair follicles, so there’s nothing for lip color to clog, Benabio says. And though it is possible to get a pimple around your eyes, it’s unlikely to happen, he adds. Ultimately, the best thing you can do for your skin is remove the makeup you’ve been wearing all day with a wipe or wash before getting sweaty (these 5 new cleansers get the job done). But if you don’t feel comfortable with a bare face, choose your coverage wisely. Since powder is less likely to clog pores than liquid makeup, Benabio suggests using a little concealer to camouflage trouble spots and polish off with an all-over dusting of powder. Tinted moisturizer and BB cream are also good alternatives to heavy foundation because they’re less thick, says Jeannette Graf, assistant clinical professor of dermatology at Mount Sinai Medical School. And if you must wear foundation to the gym, Benabio recommends sticking to noncomedogenic formulas, which are designed to not clog pores. While most foundations on the market today fall into this category, it’s a good idea to make sure the term is listed on the package. Bottom line: cosmetics should never be a roadblock between you and exercise. If wearing makeup during workouts hasn’t caused you any problems, there’s no reason for you to give yourself a guilt trip, Benabio says.  More from Prevention: 3 Ways To Look Less Scary After A Midday Workout
