At the request of her husband and family, Krentcil, 44, decided to accept an offer from Dana Ramos, author of The Skin Regime, for an eight-week anti-aging skin boot camp. The first step in the makeover—no surprise here—was to have Krentcil stop tanning, something that went better than expected, says Ramos. “As soon as I told her she could still wear dark makeup, she was in.”  Then Ramos visited Krentcil at her home in New Jersey to get a first-hand look at her skin-care routine. “Besides the addiction to tanning, Patricia had a whole mess of fake, aggressive products that were too strong for her damaged skin,” says Ramos. “She had every youth serum, anti-aging activating wrinkle cream on the market.”  More from Prevention: Best Skin Care Products Of 2012  Ramos tossed the lot and has limited Krentcil to three things: Dove soap, Lubriderm moisturizer, and weekly at-home glycolic treatments administered by Ramos. “I want to prove to people that you can truly heal and transform your skin at home. And what’s left, you can leave to the professionals,” says Ramos, who will be filming weekly webisodes in which she guides Krenctil through treatments, shopping for skin care, and buying appropriate makeup.  So…how’s it going so far? “After two home peels, I already see some of the little lines getting smaller. And my skin is super smooth, even Richard [her husband] noticed,” Krentcil says. When bootcamp is over, Krentcil plans to have a consultation with a stylist, as well as visit a dermatologist to fill in any deeper wrinkles. “I think I already was fine, but I’d like to lose my wrinkles,” Krentcil says. “I told Dana I want a boob job, but she said I need a different doctor for that!”
