If you have tight curls “Lived-in” is the look of the moment. “Less is more when it comes to curl,” says James. Think: beach waves. If you have a naturally tight curl, blow out ringlets in big sections using a boar brush, then apply a curl cream using a “scrunching” motion for an undone look. If you have flat, straight hair Distribute a golf ball-sized dollop of volumizing moose throughout wet hair and comb through with a wide tooth comb. Then, flip your hair over and blow dry until it’s 80% dry. “Leaving some moisture intact actually prevents frizz,” says James. Still looking a little limp? Dry shampoo will give hair more oomph. Here’s how to use it. If you have frizzy hair Don’t completely rinse out your conditioner after showering. “Conditioner acts like a barrier that keeps hair grouped together, creating a sealant so frizz won’t pop through,” James explains. Next, blot wet hair with a towel, instead of shuffling back and forth frenetically, which damages hair and fosters frizz. Now for the styling product: Mix an anti-frizz serum and cream together, apply in a downward motion, and dry as you normally would, making sure not to dry completely if you’re using a blow drier. “If you have really frizzy hair, mist a hard hold hairspray from 6-inches away to create an additional moisture barrier,” suggests James.
