Can You Ward Off Cancer At Dinner? [Reuters] In many instances, key lifestyle changes—more exercise, less alcohol, zero cigarettes—can help prevent certain types of cancer. But new research suggests caution in interpreting and applying nutritional advice based on studies about cancer prevention: The analysis, by experts at the Stanford Preventive Research Center, created a list of 50 random food items (including cinnamon, lobster, and cheese) and managed to find studies, often of poor quality, that claimed cancer risks or benefits for most of the items. Overall, they suggest that people maintain a healthy weight and diet, without overdoing it on the latest anti-cancer miracle food, to reduce their cancer risk. (Need a nutrition reminder?
