A New Benefit Of Your Coffee Habit [WebMD] Coffee fanatics, rejoice: Chugging major quantities of java seems to reduce the risk of developing or dying from oral cancers. A new study, published in the American Journal of Epidemiology, examined coffee consumption habits in nearly 1 million adults, and found that those who drank more than four cups per day slashed their risk of dying from mouth and throat cancer by half. That benefit persisted even when researchers factored in habits like smoking and drinking, both of which are strongly linked to oral cancer. Experts can’t yet explain the risk reduction, but they note that tea drinkers didn’t enjoy the same protective perk. And in a cool twist, the app only records when sounds are being made, so you don’t have to scan seven hours of silence to find that one, totally weird thing you blurted out mid-dream. The company behind the app says they’ve already accumulated two million downloads, and plan to make a documentary of stories from sleep-talking users.
